It was seven days before Diwali, 2017.
I was sitting in a conference room with my boss—one of India's most recognized life coaches, a Bollywood favorite, someone you've definitely seen on TV.
He looked stressed.
"Diwali week is dead for us. Nobody buys coaching during festivals. They're buying diyas and sweets and gold. Not personal development. We should just shut down marketing for two weeks and save the budget."
This was the accepted wisdom. The "common knowledge" in the industry.
Festivals = dead zone for coaching sales.
Everyone "knew" this.
I didn't buy it.
"Let me try something," I said. "Give me the database and ₹75,000 for SMS credits. If it doesn't work, I'll pay you back from my salary."
He looked at me like I was insane.

2025 - (just around the corner) - We're running a 6-month email and WhatsApp campaign for a weekly online event. Every single week for the past 6 months, we've generated an average of 200+ leads. That's 24 weeks. That's 4,800+ leads. From the same "dead" channels everyone abandoned.
From a list everyone told me to delete.
During Diwali week.
When "nobody buys coaching."
That campaign — that single 7-day sequence to a "dead" database — changed everything for me.
